Keep walking just right out of our lives

Have you ever faced the challenge of someone intentionally removing themselves from your life? This exit was a deliberate choice, not caused by death or illness. What drives a person to leave their family and sever the bonds that once connected you? Their absence evokes strong emotions, forcing you to confront the reasons behind their decision and the gap they have left.

Death didn’t take them away. Sickness didn’t take them away. Boundaries and building a family of their own ruined that relationship.

What on this side of earth could go wrong to make someone walk away?

Setting firm boundaries for our family has led to some relatives distancing themselves from us. Accepting that our children are seen merely as options by their grandparents, that my husband is viewed as an option, and that this environment excludes the wife from the table, has been a boundary we are resolute in establishing. It is imperative that your sons understand that if their wives are not welcomed at the same table, they must not sit there either, even if it means being alone at their own table.

Embrace the art of gathering at tables that remain steadfast, where everyone, including your daughter-in-law, is welcomed with open arms.
